 What is Felt?
Felt is produced when single fibres of natural materials such as woollen fleece or silk are bonded together to form a continuous fabric.

Feltmaking is an old tradition that is enjoying a new artistic expression. It does not involve any prior artistic "talent" and is instantly satisfying!

There are a variety of processes to make felt - each of them producing a unique form with endless possibilities for use and creative design. You can make shoes, bags, hats, scarves, clothes, furnishings, toys... come to Lavendilly House and be inspired!

About Lavendilly House and Jennifer McCormack
I discovered feltmaking several years ago while teaching early childhood at a Steiner School. I have since been bitten by the felting bug and I have now mastered a number of feltmaking techniques. I am always looking to improve and learn more about the possibilities of fleece!

I am taking time away from teaching to enjoy homelife with my two young children and now offer a number of special workshops and general felting classes at Lavendilly House, my home. Please have a look at my gallery and see what you can make!

Feltmaking Products and Sales
Lavendilly House also sells wool fleece and other felting supplies at lower than recommended retail price. This is ideal both for the small project-maker and the production-line felter!  I also sell my handmade felt and a variety of unique gifts.
I hope to see you soon!  Happy Felting!

Jennifer
